Geographic & Demographic Scope
Project M takes to heart the perspective of all politics being local. The main office of Project M is based in Illinois and will operate within areas of high Muslim concentrations in the south-west suburbs of Chicago.
Project M seeks to create the greatest political and civic impact at the local level of government. Under this designation, the organization will operate initially within the five townships and sixteen municipalities listed below. This definition of scope is preliminary and has been determined by high concentrations of Muslim American individuals, households, businesses, and religious centers.
Project M will develop the Muslim American political potential within these geographic boundaries. Every elected office in this political demographic will be considered in terms of the constituency serviced by the office or position, the size and scope of the Muslim American community within this area and the level of success that may be achieved through the implementation of a strategic campaign plan.
Project Mobilize is established to promote the political aspirations of marginalized communities that are fully American and seek to realize the rights and responsibilities inherent in the fullest expression of American patriotism. These are communities that lack a political voice, yet have the potential to make significant contributions towards the betterment of society as a whole.
The Muslim American community in general and specifically those within the geographic limits detailed under Project M’s geographic scope represent the initial targeted population of this effort.
