Lina Zayed
Hello, my name is Lina Zayed, and I grew up in Burbank Illinois. I am running for the Burbank School District 111 School Board.
I have decided to run for this position because it is my duty to give back to my community. I am a mother of 5 ranging from age 7 years to 20 years of age. My children have either graduated or are now attending schools in the Burbank District 111. I have been a science educator for 15, the last 11 years at Reavis High School in Burbank. I have also been a sponsor of the International Club for 7 years. I am currently a National Board candidate. This is a rigorous process very few teachers attempt to complete. I am going through this process to attain the highest standard educational tools and knowledge to advance my students learning, improve my teaching, and make my school better.
As a taxpayer, parent, and educator, I can offer a different perspective on how to meet our children’s educational needs. I am committed to an excellent education for all of our children in Burbank. My main objective is to help provide and implement high standards for our children’s education. Burbank is a diverse city that does not have a diverse governing party. By joining the Burbank School District 111 Board, I can bridge the gap between cultural differences and cultural acceptances given my experiences with diverse cultures. I am a firm believer that promoting diverse acceptance and more parent involvement in our community will help insure that our student needs are met. One way, we could do this is by accommodating and enhancing our educational system for all of our students by adopting policies and enforcing state federal mandates that reflect our communities’ needs. This is will ensure the opportunity will be there for Burbank’s children to get a fair and quality education.
On Election Day, April 5th, please vote for me by punching number 107. Together we can keep our schools strong and working for the benefit of our future generations!
